This unique and maybe the world’s most colorful complex, Muralla Roja, is designed by the world-famous Spanish architect, Ricardo Bofill, who unfortunately passed away in January 2022.
It’s located in Manzanera, just 15 min walk from beautiful Calpe – and you’re able to have a swim in the ocean just a 2-3 min walk from Muralla Roja, at the rocks of Manzanera (Playa Manzanera).
Squid Game
Some of you have might seen or heard of the most-watched TV-Series on Netflix, Squid Game, which most likely has stolen its look from this unique building.
NB: This is a private complex where people live and have their daily life. You need a key to access to complex and area and it’s not allowed to fly a drone here. So please respect the local community and book a night if you want to explore this fantastic place.
Calpe King
We stayed in the most fantastic apartment, Calpe King, which is managed by the wonderful Amber.
A young and energetic woman who can only make you smile. She’s a talented Chinese photographer who fell in love with this place a few years ago and now manages three different size apartments in Muralla Roja.
There are two lovely bedrooms, one with double bed and two singles, a big living room and most important – there are three fantastic balconies two enjoy this majestic architecture!
Rooftop pool
As anywhere else in Costa Blanca the temperatures become really high sometimes, and therefore there is of course a beautiful rooftop swimming pool to cool down on the warm days.
The swimming pool is accessible if you can find it, during the daytime and closes at 22.00. Everything at Muralla Roja might seem like a maze but you quickly find your way around.
