We have never slept in a place like this. And that is meant in a positive way!
It´s our first time in this part of our country and we did not expect much of a bunch of containers located at a field – but WOW!
The vibe at 18B is warm and reminded us more about the cool neighborhood Williamsburg in New York, than any of our expectations of western Jutland.
18B
This incredible place has been founded by the lovely Helle (see picture below) and her husband George only one year ago!
They describe 18B at a culture house. A place that is capable of a lot more than just one creative direction.
Even though the place is fairly small, small of the greatest artist of Denmark has performed here already, and a lot more to come!
The containers
There are two apartments located at 18B. They are identical and has been designed and created to last all month of the season in Denmark.
They have been bought used and has handmade to what it is today.
We had a worry that it would be a bit claustrophobic to live in a container, but it was not at all!
It is perfectly divided into the bedroom and living room downstairs and a lovely couch with a splendid view upstairs. The interior is bright and stylish and fits perfectly to the containers.
Facilities
There are shared toilet, bath and kitchen facilities inside of the main house.
The main house is located right across the beautiful big terrace and has plenty of facilities and space. Remember there is a maximum of you and another person/couple to share with since there are only two containers.
All the furniture are retro and vintage. Helle has in our opinion a great taste and she makes sure the main house does not look like a grandmas house or garage sale but retro and very personal instead.
Surroundings
There are so many beautiful places to see around 18B.
One of our favorite walks was from Trans Kirke to Bovbjerg Fyr just before sunset. The atmosphere up here is amazing and wind and waves from the great oceans bring perfect peace before bedtime.
