Eco Bungalow Koh Yao Noi

This week we stayed at an eco bungalow on Koh Yao Noi. Koh Wao Not is an island in the Andaman Sea between Krabi and Phuket. The Island Hideout is an eco-friendly resort. In this blog post, we will review our stay at the Island Hideout.

A resort with no walls!

Koh Yao Noi means long island and it’s sister island Koh Yao Yai’s name means big island. The Hideout has gone the extra mile to support the local community on Koh Yao Noi. Everything at the resort origins from the island; All of the staff are locals. The furniture is made of materials from Koh Yao Yai. And all of the food also comes from different farmers on the island. The bungalows and the main ‘building’, which are all open constructions without walls, are located in the middle of the jungle on the top of a hill. The constructions have been built so the jungle trees are included features of the resort. No trees had to be cut down because of the construction.

Eco-friendly resort

Furthermore, The Hideout is an eco-resort. There is no electricity in the bungalows. This means there is no wi-fi, no hot water, no air-conditioning, and no electric lights. However, they do have solar powered and friction powered lights, which allows you to walk effortless around at nighttime. The menu at the restaurant is heaven for a healthy foodie. All of their food is from local farmers and it is organic and/or free-range. There are also loads of vegan options. They have both international and Thai cuisine, which makes it easy to find exactly what you are craving for.

The Hideout really appeals to people who seek a mindfulness experience. Staying in the jungle with no walls knowing that you aren’t damaging the beautiful nature is very nurturing for the soul. But if that isn’t enough for you to get in the mood, they also offer yoga, meditation and sound healing sessions. This will definitely give you the feeling of mindfulness! We tried it, and it was the most beautiful yoga and meditation experience we have ever had. We truly felt connected to our mind and body.

We recommend you to stay here

We can wholeheartedly recommend you to stay at The Island Hideout on Koh Yao Noi. Our stay at the Hideout really gave us a feeling of balance, calm and self-care. We feel so blessed to have stayed at the beautiful resort, and hope we will again in the near future.
